This Privacy Policy explains how FactStack™ Research, LLC (“SupplementFactStack™,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles personal information when you subscribe to our Alerts and/or Supplement Updates & Promotions through SupplementFactStack.com™ (the “Site”). By opting in, you acknowledge that you have read this policy.
1. Information We Collect
- Email address: the address you provide when you sign up.
- Opt-in preferences and consent records: the Alerts and/or Supplement Updates you choose, and the date and time you gave consent (timestamps).
- Access dates: the dates you subscribed, confirmed your subscription, or later changed your preferences.
- Brief visits: when you are signed in to a Free Account, which consumer briefs you open, on which days, and how many times.
- Standard hosting data: information our web host and servers routinely log, such as IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, and the date and time of your visit.
We do not ask for sensitive personal information through the Alerts and/or Supplement Updates & Promotions opt-in, and we ask that you not send it to us.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Send the Updates, Promotions, and Alerts you requested;
- Honor your topic and frequency preferences;
- Keep a record of your consent and confirm that you opted in;
- Understand which briefs our members read and how often they return, so we can decide which briefs to update and add;
- Operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Site and prevent abuse or fraud;
- Comply with legal obligations.
Cookies. The Site uses an essential access cookie that is needed to make the opt-in and subscription functions work. When you are signed in to a Free Account, your account’s cookies are also used to record which briefs you open on this Site. They are not used for advertising or to track you across other websites. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the Site may not work properly if you do.
We never sell or rent your data. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone. We share it only with service providers who help us operate the Site and deliver the Alerts and/or Supplement Updates (for example, hosting and email delivery providers). They may use it only to perform services for us, or when required by law or to protect legal rights.
3. Unsubscribing and Your Choices
You may unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any Update, Promotion, or Alert or by contacting us using the details in Section 8. We will process opt-out requests promptly, and in any event within the time required by law.
You may also contact us to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you;
- Correct information that is inaccurate or out of date;
- Delete your personal information.
We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. We may retain limited information where required by law or to keep a record that you unsubscribed (so we do not email you again).
4. Data Retention
We keep your information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy. Subscriber information is generally kept while you remain subscribed. After you unsubscribe or request deletion, we delete or anonymize your information within a reasonable period, except for a minimal suppression record and any records we must keep to meet legal, tax, or dispute-resolution obligations. Server logs are kept for a limited period and then deleted or overwritten.
5. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Children’s Privacy
The Alerts and/or Supplement Updates & Promotions and the Site are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where applicable law sets a higher age). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will also announce them by email to subscribers and/or by a notice on the Site before or when the changes take effect. Continuing to receive the Alerts and/or Supplement Updates & Promotions after an update means you accept the revised policy; if you disagree, you may unsubscribe at any time.
